Prompt engineering is the art and practice of writing effective instructions for generative AI models. A good prompt sets the context, expected role, output format and constraints. It has become a real professional skill since 2023.

• Context: who speaks, to whom, for what purpose
• Role: “you are a trademark lawyer”
• Task: clear, measurable, with constraints
• Output format: list, table, JSON, length
• Examples (few-shot learning): show the expected result
• Controls: “cite your sources”, “say if you do not know”
